Before choosing a shop, clinic or restaurant, most people check Google reviews. Yet happy customers rarely write one unless asked. A short WhatsApp review request, sent at the right moment, is one of the easiest ways to grow your rating.

Step 1: Get your review link

Open your Google Business Profile and look for the option to share a review link. Copy it. This link opens the review box directly, so customers do not have to search for you.

Step 2: Pick the right moment

  • Shops: the same evening, or the day after purchase.
  • Online orders: 2–3 days after delivery.
  • Restaurants: a few hours after the meal.
  • Clinics and salons: the next day.
  • Hotels: one day after checkout.

Templates you can copy

Shop:

"Hi Pooja, thank you for shopping at Gupta Sarees today! If you liked our service, could you share a few words on Google? It really helps a small shop like ours. [link]"

Online store:

"Hi Rahul, we hope your order reached safely! If you're happy with it, a quick Google review would mean a lot to us. [link]"

Restaurant:

"Thank you for dining with us tonight! If you enjoyed the food, please leave us a short review. [link]"

Clinic:

"Hope you are feeling better. If you were happy with your visit to CityCare Clinic, we'd be grateful for a review. [link]"

Hotel:

"Thank you for staying with us! We'd love to hear about your stay. [link]"

Do's and don'ts

  • Do ask every customer, not only the ones you think are happy.
  • Do keep it short — two lines and a link.
  • Do reply to every review, good or bad, politely.
  • Don't offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews — Google's policies don't allow it.
  • Don't ask more than once. One reminder at most.
  • Don't write fake reviews or ask staff to.

When a customer is unhappy

If someone replies with a complaint, thank them, apologise and fix the problem first. Many customers who see their problem solved later write a fair review on their own.

Doing this at scale

Asking every customer by hand is hard on a busy day. With the WhatsApp Business API, a review request can be an approved template sent from one business number, and replies come into a shared inbox so your team can respond to complaints quickly.
