Guru Nanak Jayanti — Gurpurab — falls on Tuesday, 24 November 2026, on Kartik Purnima. It is a deeply spiritual day for Sikh families and many others. Businesses that serve them can send a respectful greeting and helpful service messages — but this is not a day for hard selling.
A simple timing plan
- Early November: messages for caterers, sweet makers and travel operators about bookings.
- 20–22 November: pickup and delivery reminders.
- 24 November: a short, respectful greeting only.
Caterers and langar suppliers
1. "Sat Sri Akal! We are taking bookings for Gurpurab langar and community meals. Please share the date, place and number of people, and we will send a quote."
2. "Your order for 300 people on 24 November is confirmed. Our team will reach the gurdwara by 6 am. Thank you for choosing us."
Sweet shops
3. "Pinni, karah prasad ingredients and sweet boxes are ready for Gurpurab. Pre-order by 22 November for easy pickup."
Clothing and turban shops
4. "New turbans, dupattas and suits for Gurpurab are in store. Visit before 23 November for the best choice."
Travel operators
5. "Gurpurab trips to Amritsar and other historic gurdwaras — limited seats. Reply with your dates and number of travellers."
The greeting
6. "Wishing you and your family a blessed Guru Nanak Jayanti. May Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings of truth, kindness and service guide us always. — Team Singh Sweets"
Tone tips
- Keep greetings simple and sincere. Avoid discounts and sale words in the greeting itself.
- Use respectful language and correct names — "Guru Nanak Dev Ji".
- Don't use religious images in a careless or commercial way.
- Message only customers who agreed to hear from you.
Handling booking messages
Caterers and travel operators get many enquiries in the weeks before Gurpurab. With the WhatsApp Business API, the whole team answers from one business number in a shared inbox. On our Growth and Pro plans, keyword replies can send your menu or trip details at once, and an away message covers early mornings and late nights.
