When someone searches "saree shop near me" or "cake shop in Vijay Nagar", Google shows a map with three businesses at the top. Those three get most of the calls and visits. A complete Google Business Profile is the free way to get there — and to send those searchers to your online store as well.
1. Claim and verify your profile
Search your shop's name on Google. If a profile exists, claim it; if not, create one at Google Business Profile. Verification may need a video of your shop or a postcard. Do it once, properly.
2. Get the basics exactly right
Name, address, phone and hours should match your shop board and your website. Do not add extra keywords to the name — Google can suspend profiles for that.
3. Pick the right category
Choose one main category that best describes you — "Saree store", "Sweet shop", "Hardware store". Add a few secondary ones only if they are true.
4. Add your website link
Link your online store in the website field. A buyer who finds you on the map but cannot visit today can order from your site instead.
5. Add real photos, often
Upload photos of the shop front, the inside, your team and your best products. Add a few new photos every week or two. Fresh photos show Google and buyers that your shop is active.
6. List your products
Use the Products section for your best sellers with a photo, a short description and price. Link each one to the product page on your website.
7. Ask for reviews — and reply
Reviews matter a lot. Many buyers avoid businesses with very few reviews. Ask happy customers for a Google review with a direct link or a QR code at the counter, and reply to every review, good or bad.
8. Post updates
Share a short post for new stock, festival offers or holiday hours. Posts appear on your profile and give searchers a reason to choose you today.
9. Answer questions and messages
Check the Questions section and reply quickly. Add common questions yourself — "Do you deliver?", "Do you have parking?" — with clear answers.
How it fits with your website
Your profile brings local searchers; your website takes orders from them any time, from anywhere. Together, they turn "near me" searches into sales even after your shutter is down.
Our online stores come with clean URLs, editable meta titles and an automatic sitemap, so your product pages can be found on Google too. See online store plans from a one-time ₹4,990, or read how to write product titles that rank.
