"When will it reach?" and "Why is shipping so costly?" are the questions every new seller hears. A clear shipping policy page answers them before the buyer asks — and protects you when there is a dispute.

1. Where you deliver

Say whether you ship all over India or only to some areas. If some pin codes are not served, say how buyers can check.

2. Dispatch time

Write how many days you take to pack and hand the order to the courier — for example, "within 1–2 working days". For made-to-order items, give that time separately.

3. Delivery time

Give honest ranges: "3–5 days in metro cities, 5–8 days elsewhere, longer for the Northeast and hill areas." Ranges are safer than promises.

4. Charges

State the delivery charge and when delivery is free — for example, "free above ₹999". Mention any extra charge for cash on delivery.

5. Cash on delivery rules

Say where COD is available, any order limit you follow, and that you may confirm COD orders on WhatsApp before dispatch.

6. Delays

Festivals, floods and strikes can delay couriers. Say that delays outside your control can happen and that you will keep buyers updated.

7. Damaged or missing parcels

Ask buyers to record an unboxing video and report damage within 48 hours with photos. Explain what you will do — replace, refund or claim from the courier.

Simple template

"We ship across India. Orders are packed within 1–2 working days. Delivery takes 3–5 days in metros and 5–8 days elsewhere. Shipping is ₹60, free on orders above ₹999. COD is available on most pin codes. If your parcel arrives damaged, send us an unboxing video and photos on WhatsApp within 48 hours."

Change the numbers to match your business. Keep the language simple.

Tips

  • Link the shipping page in your footer and at checkout.
  • Update it before Diwali with your last order date.
  • Keep it consistent with what you say on WhatsApp.

In our online stores you set your own delivery charges and free-delivery limit. On Pro and Elite, Shiprocket books couriers and sends tracking. See online store plans or read how to set shipping charges.
