WhatsApp Green Tick Verification — What It Is Now and How It Works

Every business owner asks for the WhatsApp green tick. Two things surprise most of them. The tick is not green any more. And it is not something a provider can sell you.

This page explains, in simple words, what the badge is today, the two routes to it, and what actually makes customers trust your WhatsApp number.

The green tick is blue now

In 2024 Meta changed WhatsApp's verified badge from green to blue, so it matches Facebook and Instagram. Businesses that already had the green tick got the blue one automatically.

People still search for WhatsApp green tick verification, and that is fine. It means the same thing: a badge next to the business name that says WhatsApp has confirmed this account belongs to who it claims.

The badge is not the same as the business name showing on the chat. On the API, your approved display name is shown to customers either way. The tick is an extra layer on top.

Two routes to the badge

Official Business Account. This is the free route. A business requests it through its provider, and Meta reviews whether the business is well known. There is no fee, and there is also no promise.

Meta Verified for Business. This is a separate paid subscription from Meta, with its own conditions and its own rules for who can sign up. It is Meta's product, not ours, and its price is set by Meta.

The two are easy to mix up. If someone offers you a "green tick package" for a fixed fee, ask which of these it is. If they cannot answer, it is neither.

What Meta looks for on the free route

Meta does not publish a checklist that guarantees approval. From what we see in requests, these things usually matter:

  • Business verification done in your Meta Business Manager, with matching business documents.
  • Two-step verification turned on for the WhatsApp number.
  • Notability — the business appears in independent news articles. Paid articles and press releases usually do not count.
  • A consistent name — the same business name on the website, the documents and the WhatsApp display name.

Notability is where most small businesses stop. A well-loved shop with ten thousand customers may still not be "notable" to Meta's reviewers. That is not a reflection of the business. It is how the badge works.

Why no provider can guarantee it

The decision is Meta's alone. A provider prepares the request and submits it. That is the whole of what a provider can do.

So we do not guarantee the tick, and we do not charge extra for applying. When you are ready, we check the four points above with you, fix what can be fixed, and submit the request. If it is declined, we tell you why, when Meta says why, and when it makes sense to try again.

A company that promises the badge for a fee is either reselling Meta's paid subscription under another name or promising something it does not control. Both are worth avoiding.

What builds trust without the tick

Most customers do not check for a badge. They check whether the message looks like it came from you.

  • An approved display name that matches your shop board and website.
  • A complete profile — logo, address, hours, website link.
  • Messages people expected — sent to contacts who opted in, not to strangers.
  • A human reply when a customer answers, not silence.
  • The same number everywhere — on the bill, the bag, the website and the ads.

Scam messages copy logos. They cannot copy a number the customer already has saved from your shop.

What we do and what we do not

We set up your WhatsApp Business Account, get your display name approved, complete the profile, and prepare the official business account request when you meet the basics. That work is part of going live, with no separate charge.

We cannot promise the badge. We do not sell Meta's paid verification. We do not offer an AI bot, SMS, a built-in CRM or a free trial. And no plan gives unlimited messaging — Meta's tiers and quality rating apply with or without a tick.

Start with the account, then the badge

A badge on an account nobody uses is worth nothing. Get the number live, send good messages, and let the business earn its reputation first. Our plans are ₹790, ₹990 and ₹1,290 a month, with no setup fee.

Two routes. The free Official Business Account request, which Meta reviews mainly on notability, and Meta Verified for Business, a separate paid subscription from Meta with its own conditions.
Can a provider guarantee the green tick?
No. Meta alone decides. A provider can prepare and submit the request. We do not guarantee the badge and do not charge extra for applying.
What does Meta look for?
