Pearls need their own fields
A pearl buyer is comparing lustre, shape, surface quality and size in millimetres. None of that fits into a generic jewellery listing, and forcing it into a description paragraph loses the sale to whoever laid it out properly.
Custom attributes let you carry exactly what your category uses — pearl type, shape, size in mm, lustre grade, surface, colour, drilling, and the stringing or setting used. Each as its own field.
Two strands then line up field against field, which is the comparison the buyer was about to make in another tab anyway.
Bangles are a size problem, not a purity problem
Laad Bazaar sells bangles by size, and the wrong size is the most common reason a bangle order comes back.
Every product carries its own size chart, so the standard 2.4 to 2.10 range is shown as a proper chart rather than a number the buyer has to guess. Stock is tracked per variant, so 2.6 in red can sell out while 2.8 keeps selling.
Return windows are set per product too. A plain set can carry a generous window; a customised or bridal set can carry a tighter one, stated on the page before the buyer commits rather than argued about afterwards.
Colour is the whole product, so photograph it properly
Pearls and bangles both sell on colour, and colour is what a screen gets wrong most often.
Multi-image galleries and product video let you show the piece in daylight and indoors, against skin for scale, and turning so the lustre reads. For a strand that costs several thousand rupees, this is not decoration — it is the whole product page.
The customer reviews system handles what your own copy cannot. A buyer who has never been to Hyderabad believes another buyer over any description you write.
A courier network that actually helps
Hyderabad sits on strong regional logistics, and that is a genuine advantage for a small jeweller shipping across the south.
Shiprocket integration pushes orders across with address, value and payment mode already attached, brings back the AWB against the order, and updates status as the parcel moves. Courier automation means nobody copies a tracking number by hand.
For fragile categories that matters twice over — you want the parcel moving fast and you want a record when something arrives broken.
Money, and the order you do not want
GST billing produces a proper invoice on every order — CGST and SGST within Telangana, IGST outside, HSN codes and per-product rates, financial-year series unbroken.
Partial COD takes a small advance on higher-value strands so an impulse order drops off before it costs you freight both ways. COD itself is controlled per product and per order value, so a ₹600 bangle set can go on cash while a ₹15,000 pearl strand requires prepayment.
RTO prevention flags risky orders before dispatch, which for fragile stock is worth more than for most categories — a returned parcel does not always come back sellable.
Your grading language has to be consistent
Pearls have no single grading standard everyone follows. One seller's AAA is another seller's A, and a buyer comparing two listings has no way to tell.
You cannot fix the industry, but you can fix your own catalogue. Use one scale across every product, and put a short explanation of what your grades mean somewhere the buyer can find it. That page costs nothing to write and removes the doubt that stops a first order.
The same applies to size. State whether the millimetre figure is the individual pearl or the strand length, because both are used and the buyer cannot guess which you mean.
None of this is technically difficult. It is simply information most listings leave out, and leaving it out is why the buyer opens another tab.
