"Can you get us the green tick?" is the first question almost every business asks us. The honest answer has three parts. The tick is blue now. There are two different ways to get it. And nobody except Meta can promise it.
What changed in 2024
Meta used to show a green tick next to verified business names on WhatsApp, while Facebook and Instagram used a blue one. In 2024 Meta made them match. WhatsApp's badge became blue, and businesses that already had the green tick got the blue badge automatically, without applying again.
The job of the badge did not change. It still tells a customer that WhatsApp has confirmed the account belongs to the business it names. People still call it the green tick, and search for it that way.

With that many businesses on WhatsApp, a badge is rare by design. Most of the businesses your customers trust do not have one.
Route 1: Official Business Account (free)
A business on the WhatsApp Business API can request an Official Business Account through its provider. There is no fee. Meta reviews the request, and the main thing it looks at is whether the business is notable — well known, usually shown by coverage in independent news articles.
In our experience these also matter: business verification completed in Meta Business Manager, two-step verification turned on for the number, and the same business name on your documents, website and WhatsApp display name. Paid articles and press releases usually do not count as notability.
Route 2: Meta Verified for Business (paid)
This is a separate subscription sold by Meta, with its own conditions for who can sign up and its own price. It is Meta's product. When someone offers a "green tick package", ask which route they mean. If they cannot answer clearly, be careful.
Why no provider can guarantee it
A provider can prepare the request, check your details and submit it. The decision is Meta's. A provider who promises the badge for a fee is promising something they do not control.
At Instacode.in we submit the Official Business Account request when you meet the basics, at no extra charge, and we tell you plainly if the request is unlikely to pass yet.
What builds trust without a badge
- An approved display name that matches your shop board and website.
- A complete profile with logo, address, hours and website.
- Messages people asked for, sent only to opted-in contacts.
- A real reply when a customer answers.
- One number everywhere — bill, bag, website and ads — so customers already have it saved.
A scammer can copy a logo. They cannot copy a number your customer saved at your counter.
Where to start
Get your number live on the API first, send useful messages, and let the reputation build. Our green tick verification page covers the details, and how to get the WhatsApp Business API walks through setup step by step. Plans start at ₹790 a month with no setup fee.
