A trade where the customer comes back every month
Retail pharmacy in India is a huge, local, repeat business.

Most of a chemist's revenue comes from a small group of regular patients — the diabetes, BP, thyroid and heart patients who refill the same medicines every month.
They are also the easiest customers to lose. If they run out on a Sunday and the shop next door delivers, the habit moves. A reminder two days early keeps them yours.
The refill reminder, done carefully
When you dispense a 30-day course, note the date. Around day 26, send a short message: "Your monthly medicines are due in a few days. Reply here and we will keep them ready."
Do not name the medicine or the condition in the template. "Your monthly medicines" is enough, and it keeps a private matter private on a phone that others may see.
The patient replies, the chat opens for 24 hours, and your team confirms details freely inside it. On Pro, billing software that knows the dispensing date can trigger the reminder by itself.
"Your medicine has arrived" is the other message
Every chemist orders something specially for a patient. Today that patient calls twice to ask, and the shop forgets to call back when it lands.
Keep a list of what was promised to whom in the inbox, and send one message when the item arrives, with the amount and the pickup time. A patient waiting on medicine remembers the shop that told them.

Prescriptions in a shared inbox
Prescription photos arriving on one phone is how mistakes happen. In a shared inbox any qualified person at the counter can open the chat, read the prescription and reply, and the chat stays unread for everyone until it is marked done.
The rules do not change because the message is on WhatsApp. Dispensing still follows the same law and the same checks you use across the counter — the platform only carries the conversation.
For anything unclear, the answer is a phone call. Click-to-call opens the dialer straight from the chat.
Home delivery, without the phone ringing
Most chemists deliver within a few kilometres. The trouble is the four calls that go with each delivery: confirming the item, the price, the address and the timing.
Send one message instead: "Your order is ready — [number of items], ₹[amount], reaching by [time]. Reply if the address has changed." The customer answers once, and the delivery boy leaves with the correct information.
Keep each regular customer's address in the contact notes, so an elderly patient never has to explain the lane again. For payment, send a UPI link in the same chat or collect cash at the door.
Say your delivery areas and cut-off time on your profile. A clear "orders after 9 pm go out next morning" prevents the complaint at 10.
What a chemist should not put on WhatsApp
No condition names in templates. No test results. No advice that belongs to a doctor. And no marketing of prescription medicines — offers should be limited to the general items you sell, and only to customers who opted in.
The platform does not verify prescriptions, does not keep patient records, does not take payments inside the chat and has no AI. It sends messages and holds contacts. Your shop keeps doing the rest exactly as it does today.
Plans for a chemist shop or a chain
A single shop sending refill reminders by hand fits Starter at ₹790 a month. Growth at ₹990 adds patient lists and an after-hours bot for timings, delivery areas and "do you deliver". A chain connecting billing software takes Pro at ₹1,290. No setup fee — see the plans page.
Send us your refill wording, your delivery areas and your timings, and we will get the templates approved. If you want an online store for consumables and devices too, see ecommerce website for medical stores.
