What actually gets automated
When an order is ready to ship, it is pushed to Shiprocket with the buyer's address, the order value and the payment mode already attached — prepaid or COD, so the collection amount is right without anyone typing it.
The shipping label comes back for printing. The AWB number is written against the order in your admin panel, so the tracking reference lives with the order rather than in a spreadsheet.
Status changes flow back as the parcel moves. You can see what is picked up, in transit or delivered without logging into the courier dashboard at all.
The customer stops asking where their order is
"Where is my order" is the single most common message any Indian store receives, and almost all of it is avoidable.
With tracking attached automatically, the buyer gets the AWB and a link without anyone sending it manually. Courier automation pushes status updates as they happen, and on plans with WhatsApp alerts those updates land on the channel the customer actually reads.
The result is not just fewer messages. It is fewer failed deliveries, because a customer who knows the parcel arrives today is a customer who is at home.
Choosing a courier without thinking about it
Shiprocket sits on top of many courier partners, which is most of its value. Different couriers serve different pincodes at different rates and different reliability.
Because orders flow through automatically, you keep whatever courier rules you have set up on the Shiprocket side without maintaining a parallel system in your store. Your rate card, your preferences and your serviceability checks stay in one place.
If you later switch how you allocate couriers, nothing in your store needs to change.
Returns and refused deliveries come back cleanly
Not every parcel completes its journey. When one comes back, you want it reflected against the order rather than discovered during a stock count.
Return and RTO statuses flow back the same way outbound statuses do. Returns and exchange management keeps the request, its reason and its current state in one queue, so an exchange does not get lost between a courier panel and a WhatsApp thread.
Over time this is also how you learn which products and which areas are actually costing you money.
What it removes from your week
The honest case for this integration is not that it is clever. It is that it removes a repetitive task that scales linearly with your growth.
At ten orders a day the manual process is annoying. At fifty it is a full-time job, and it is the job you will do instead of buying stock, shooting photographs or talking to customers.
Automating it does not make you more orders. It gives you back the hours you would otherwise spend not getting them.
What you need before we connect it
The integration itself takes very little time. Getting the pieces together beforehand is what decides whether it happens on day one or day five.
You need an active Shiprocket account in your business name, with KYC completed — this usually takes them a day or two, so start it early rather than after your store is ready. You need your API credentials from their panel, which we use to connect the two systems.
You also need a pickup address registered on their side, and it has to match where the parcels will actually be collected from. A mismatch here is the most common reason a first pickup fails.
Finally, decide your packaging weights and dimensions per product category. Shiprocket prices on volumetric weight, and an underdeclared parcel gets reweighed and charged the difference — usually more than you expected.
Which plan includes it
Shiprocket integration is included in the Pro plan at a one-time ₹9,990, along with Partial COD, abandoned cart recovery, Meta Pixel and the customer reviews system.
Starter at ₹4,990 is the complete store — catalogue, Razorpay and COD, GST invoicing and admin panel — with shipping handled manually.
Elite at ₹19,990 adds WhatsApp automation, Meta CAPI, advanced analytics and multi-store admin.
