Your shop opens at nine at night, on a live video
Hyderabad's boutiques have built a real business on live sales. Gadwal, Pochampally ikat, Narayanpet, Kanchi and designer pieces, shown on Facebook or Instagram Live to hundreds of women watching from Kukatpally, Secunderabad, Vijayawada and Dubai.
The live works because it feels like a shop. The buyer sees the drape, hears the owner describe the border, and watches other people want it. No product page does that.
What breaks is the part after "booked". The notebook. The DMs asking for addresses. The UPI screenshots that do not match. The buyer who booked four sarees in excitement and paid for one. The second buyer who really wanted that saree and was told it was gone.
A store cannot replace the live. It can replace the notebook.
What the store does not do — it does not go live, and a comment is not an order
Owners ask if the website can run the live video, or read the comments and create orders. It cannot.
The store has no live shopping. It does not stream video, it does not connect to your Facebook or Instagram live, and nothing reads comments. A buyer typing "booked" under your video has not placed an order anywhere.
So keep going live exactly where you do now. What changes is the rule you announce at the start: typing "booked" does not hold a saree. Paying for it on the store does.
That one rule removes the notebook, the arguments and the buyer who books four and pays for one. It feels strict for a week. Then your regular buyers start opening the store before the live begins.
Put every saree on the store before you press Go Live
An hour before the live, list tonight's pieces. It takes less time than it sounds, and it is the whole trick.
Give each piece a short code in its title — HL-112, HL-113 — and write the same code on a card you hold up on camera. The buyer hears "HL-112", types it into the store search, and lands on the saree.
Fill the fields a buyer asks in the comments anyway: weave and region, fabric, length in metres, whether a blouse piece is included, the colour of the border, and the price. Add two clear photos and, on Pro and Elite, a short video. Now the questions are answered before they are typed.
Set the quantity to one. When someone pays, the store takes the saree off sale by itself, and the next person who types HL-112 sees that it is gone. Say that on the live: "if the page says sold out, it has gone".
First to pay gets it, not first to type
This is fairer than the notebook, and buyers notice. The woman in Dubai who types slowly is no longer beaten by someone who typed "booked" and then vanished.
Checkout has to be fast for this to work. OTP login on Pro and Elite means no password to remember in the middle of a live. UPI and Razorpay take the payment in seconds. The Buy Now button skips the cart for a single piece.
WhatsApp alerts confirm the order the moment it is paid. The buyer gets a message she can screenshot for the comments, and you get a clean list of paid orders instead of a page of names.
Keep cash on delivery off for live pieces. A live sale is an impulse, and impulses get refused at the door. If you want to allow it, partial COD on Pro and Elite takes an advance first.
The buyers who watched and did not buy
Most of the audience watches without buying. Some of them wanted a piece and missed it. Some were deciding.
After the live, post the replay with a link to the store and one line: "pieces still available are on the site". Buyers who were deciding can finish on their own time without messaging you.
On Pro and Elite, abandoned cart recovery on WhatsApp reaches the buyer who opened a saree, added it to the cart and got distracted by the next piece on the live. The reminder should mention the piece by name. That buyer was interested a few minutes ago.
Order history and the customer list slowly show you who your regulars are. A message to them an hour before a big live, sent from your phone, fills the audience with people who pay.
Returns on a piece thirty people wanted
A live sale creates a special kind of return. The buyer bought fast, the saree arrives, and the colour looks different in daylight than it did under the ring light.
Set the return window per product and say it on the page in one line. Many boutiques here accept returns only for damage or a wrong piece, and that is fine if it is written down before payment.
Photograph each piece in daylight as well as under your live lights, and put both on the page. Say "colour may look brighter on the live" once. It prevents more returns than any policy.
When a piece does come back, put it on the store again with the same code and mention it in the next live. Somebody wanted it the first time.
Being found when you are not live
The live finds buyers who already follow you. Search finds the ones who do not. They type the weave, the colour and the word "online", sometimes with the city.
Put the weave name in every product title, and keep a page per weave — Gadwal, Pochampally, Narayanpet — with the pieces still available. Clean URLs, editable meta titles and a sitemap that updates as you publish come with the first plan.
Google Analytics is connected at the start. After a month you will see how many orders came during a live and how many came from search at other hours. Most boutiques are surprised by the second number.
What it costs and what to send us
Starter is a one-time ₹4,990 — no monthly fee, no commission on your sales, and the code and database belong to you. Pro and Elite add OTP login, partial COD, abandoned cart recovery, product video and server-side tracking.
We work from Indore over WhatsApp and call. To start, send photos of ten pieces from your next live with their details, your return rule, your GST number, and the words you say at the start of a live. We will turn that last part into the rule on your store's front page.
