Provenance and ingredients belong in fields, not prose
A buyer choosing an Ayurvedic formulation wants the ingredients, the quantity, the shelf life and who made it. A spice buyer wants the grade, the origin and the harvest.
Custom attributes let you carry those as structured fields per product rather than burying them in a paragraph. The buyer can scan them, compare two products, and stop wondering.
For regulated categories this matters twice over — the information a buyer needs and the information you are expected to display are usually the same information, and having a proper field for it means it never gets left out.
Reviews do the work you cannot do yourself
You can describe a product honestly and a first-time buyer still will not be sure. Someone else saying it worked carries weight that your own copy never will.
The customer reviews system puts verified buyer feedback on the product page. In wellness categories this is usually the single biggest factor in a first order, and it compounds — a product with twenty honest reviews sells at a rate a new listing cannot match.
GST invoicing on every order adds the other half of the credibility, particularly for buyers ordering in quantity.
Repeat purchase is the whole business
Nobody buys turmeric once. The customer who ordered in January should be ordering in March, and if they are not, that is something you need to see.
Customer management keeps order history against each buyer, so you can tell who reorders, what they buy and who has quietly stopped. WhatsApp alerts handle confirmations and delivery updates on the channel people actually read.
Being straight: there is no subscription module — nothing that bills a customer automatically every month. If recurring billing is central to your plan, it is not built. Repeat orders here are placed by the customer, helped along by a reminder.
The NRI buyer, honestly
A large share of Kerala's spice and Ayurveda demand sits outside India, and it is worth being clear about what the store does and does not handle.
Prices show in rupees. Multi-currency is not supported — an overseas buyer pays the rupee amount and their card handles conversion. That works, and plenty of brands sell this way, but it is not the same as showing dollars.
International shipping runs through your own courier arrangement. We integrate the domestic side through Shiprocket; which countries are serviceable, at what rate, and what paperwork is needed stays between you and your provider.

One-time, with no monthly fee and no commission on your sales.
Batch, shelf life and the questions buyers ask twice
For anything consumable the same three questions come back: when was it made, how long does it keep, and what exactly is in it.
Custom attributes let you carry manufacture and expiry information, batch reference and net quantity as their own fields per product. A buyer who can see those does not message you to ask, and a buyer who cannot usually just leaves.
Worth being clear about what this is and is not: these are display fields you fill in, not a batch-tracking system. The store does not manage inventory by batch or warn you when a batch is nearing expiry — that is not built. It shows the buyer what you enter.
Order management keeps the record of what went out and when, which covers the common case of a customer asking about an order from two months ago.
Getting found by people who do not know your brand
Most Kochi brands have loyal local demand and almost no visibility outside it. That gap is the reason to build online at all.
The store is SEO-ready — editable meta titles and descriptions per product and category, clean URLs, proper headings and image alt text. When your ingredient and origin fields are filled properly, the page carries the exact terms people search with.
Google Analytics shows which products actually bring traffic, and the answer is usually not the one you would have guessed.
