In the weeks before Diwali, orders can jump several times over in a few days — and every courier in India gets busier at the same moment. The sellers who keep customers happy are the ones who plan the Diwali order rush now, not in the last week.

Before the rush (now to mid-October)

  1. Stock up on packing. Boxes, pouches, tape, bubble wrap and labels run short in October. Buy enough for your best week times two.
  2. Pre-pack best sellers. Ready gift boxes and common combos can be packed in advance and just labelled when an order comes.
  3. Set packed weights. Check every product's packed weight in your store so courier charges are right — a small error repeated 500 times is real money.
  4. Talk to your courier. Ask about pickup times, daily limits and festive cut-off dates for far-away pin codes.

During the rush

  1. Split the work. One person picks, one packs, one checks and labels. Clear roles are faster than everyone doing everything.
  2. Check before sealing. Match the item to the order slip before the box is closed. Wrong items are the most expensive mistake of the season.
  3. Ship the same day where possible. Orders that sit for two days in a busy week become "where is my order?" calls.
  4. Update buyers. Send the tracking link when the parcel ships. A buyer who can see progress does not panic.

The last days

  1. Announce a last order date. Diwali is on 8 November 2026. For most of India, a last order date around 1–2 November for delivery before Diwali is sensible; check with your courier for the North-East and remote areas.
  2. Be honest about delays. If a hub is jammed, tell buyers early with a new expected date. An early, polite message keeps trust even when a parcel is late.

After Diwali

Thank your buyers, ask for reviews, and note what went wrong so next year is easier. Many festive buyers come back for weddings and the New Year.

How your store can help

Our online stores keep stock correct as orders come in, so an item that runs out stops selling by itself. On Pro and Elite, orders go to the courier through Shiprocket and buyers get WhatsApp updates on order and dispatch.
