Launching a website does not bring buyers by itself. Google takes time to find new pages, and ads can burn money fast. The good news: your first hundred orders usually come from people who already know you. Here is the order to work in.
Step 1: Your existing customers (orders 1–30)
Start with people who already bought from you in the shop, on Instagram or on WhatsApp. Send each of them one message with the website link and a small first-order coupon. They trust you already, and they are the easiest first orders you will ever get.
Step 2: WhatsApp status and groups (orders 30–50)
Post one product a day on your WhatsApp status with the website link. Share in groups where you are genuinely a member — family, society, community — once, not every day. Ask happy buyers to forward it.
Step 3: Instagram, pointed at the website (orders 50–70)
Put the link in your bio and in every product story. When someone DMs "price?", reply with the product link. That one habit moves orders from chat to checkout.
Step 4: Google Business Profile (local orders)
If you have a shop, add your website to your free Google Business Profile. People searching "near me" see your shop, your photos and your link. It is the fastest free way to appear on Google.
Step 5: Product pages that can rank (orders 70–100, and after)
- Title each product the way people search: "Cotton Kurta Set for Women — XL".
- Write two honest sentences and list the details as fields.
- Name your city and area on the contact page.
This takes a few weeks to show results, but it keeps bringing orders long after.
Step 6: Ask every buyer for a review
A few days after delivery, send a message asking for a review. New visitors trust other buyers more than they trust you. Ten honest reviews change how your store feels.
What to skip at the start
- Big ad budgets before your pages and checkout are tested.
- Discounts on everything — a small first-order coupon is enough.
- Adding hundreds of products. Twenty good ones sell better.
Keep count
Note where each order came from. By order 100, you will know which channel works for your business, and where to spend next.

FAQs
Where do the first orders on a new online store come from?
Mostly from people who already know you — past customers, WhatsApp contacts and Instagram followers. Google traffic usually builds over the following weeks.
Should I run ads when my store is new?
Only after your product pages and checkout are tested. Start with existing customers, WhatsApp and Instagram, then add ads once you know what sells.
How many products should a new store launch with?
Around twenty well-listed products is enough. Good photos, clear titles and details sell better than hundreds of rough listings.
